San Honesto

"Factoria de Santos creates saints to raise awareness and positively inspire the person who prays. At Factoria de Santos, we believe a better world starts within ourselves, we must take responsibility of our actions, and not waiting for change in others.Every saint created by Factoria de Santos has a prayer, a legend and a line of products that reflect the image of the person who prays. The answer to all problems is within ourselves; we are the creators of miracles." Mission Statement by Factoria de Santos

San Honesto is a fictional saint designed by Factoria de Santos. It was meant to create a new culture of honesty in Mexico and the world. Factoria de Santos also sells advertising products to reinforce their believes. A very clever entrepreneurial concept I must say.

Origami on Canvas

I finally finished this project! Yay! I worked on it on my spare time and it feels it took forever. I made mistakes during the process and I had to start over a couple of times, I'm glad is done. I want to make an improved version with maybe origami swans? I'll share that in a couple of years ;)

I Love You But...

This is a picture book about the moment in a relationship when you realize you don't love someone completely, because there is one little thing that keeps bothering you. When it bothers you so much it actually makes you physically cringe, you know it's time to say; 'I love you but...' - A joint project by Alex Holder and Ross Neil

Amusing illustrations that I definitely relate to, they are surprisingly comforting too. Click here to see their whole collection.

The Hipstamatic

The Hipstamatic for iPhone is an application that brings back the look, feel, unpredictable beauty, and fun of plastic toy cameras from the past.

For $1.99 you can choose from different lenses, films and flash to create your own vintage shot. I'm addicted.

El Secreto de Sus Ojos

The Secret In Their Eyes is an Argentine film directed by Juan José Campanella. It won the Oscar for Best Foreign Movie and after seeing it last night I must agree. This film made me cry, laugh and feel uncertain. The cinematography was spectacular throughout the whole movie, especially a memorable stadium scene. I truly recommend it. Rent it, buy it, download it but please see it, you won't regret it.

Icon Finder

Needed some cool social icons for the blog, since I'm into embroidering I thought of stitching each of them but it didn't take me too long to realize it was a crazy idea, I have so many other things to do! That's when I found Icon Finder, an awesome website where you search for any icon and get various results. Most of them are free for personal and commercial use. Just what I needed!

La Teta Asustada

La Teta Asustada (The Milk of Sorrow) is a 2009 film by Barcelona-based, Peruvian director Claudia Llosa. It addresses a young and abused woman, Fausta, (Magaly Solier), who battles with her fears against terrorists groups in Peru. Marañón

"A marañón is a fruit. It is most commonly known as the cashew apple. My grandmother and I are avid lovers of its taste. She told me it was her favorite fruit because throughout the fruit’s developmental stages, it displays all of the colors visible to the human eye. I’ve never been able to prove the validity of this statement, but I have always taken her word for it."- Lorena

Marañon is an amazing etsy store run by Lorena. She is currently an Etsy's featured seller I was excited to know more about the girl behind these stunning necklaces. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that she also lives in Miami! =D I've been learning how to embroider for the last couple of months and her necklaces are a huge inspiration.
