Stefan Sagmeister: The power of time off

"Every seven years, designer Stefan Sagmeister closes his New York studio for a yearlong sabbatical to rejuvenate and refresh their creative outlook. He explains the often overlooked value of time off and shows the innovative projects inspired by his time in Bali."

I don't know if I'll be able to afford a year off but I definitely agree on the power of time off, even if it's only an afternoon.

Portraits of Power

The New Yorker magazine shows an interactive portfolio of president portraits by Platon, with commentary by the photographer. It was interesting to listen to Platon explain how much or little it takes to capture a special moment and personality of each president.

A Love Letter For You

"The City of Philadelphia Mural Arts Program and Philadelphia native, New York-based artist Stephen Powers have collaborated to create Love Letter, a public art project consisting of a series of 50 rooftop murals. The murals collectively express a love letter from a guy to a girl, from an artist to his hometown, and from local residents to their West Philadelphia neighborhood. Love Letter, which will be documented in two books, a film, and a gallery exhibition, speaks to all those who have loved and for those who long for a way to express that love to the world around them." I suddenly feel the urge to visit Philadelphia =)

Free Alarm Clock for Mac

I spend too much time in front a computer and I often lose track of time. I needed some sort of alarm to remind me to get some simple errands done (e.g. to make an important call, check the oven, take a pill etc.) I came across this simple and useful free alarm clock for mac. I'm feeling more productive now. =)
