Stitch it

Some people read before going to sleep, I stitch. It helps me wind down after a long day. There are a lot of ways of stitching but I usually fall for the simple and unique designs like the ones above. I know they're very time consuming and that makes them more special, they're all beautifully done!

From left to right:

1. Weeping Willow by Hare and Drum
2. Carried Away by Cowboy Bunny
3. Pretty a pair of legs and tiny feet by Whimsiology
4. Girl and her horse no. 3 by Mary's Granddaughter
5. Queen Elizabeth by Slipcover Your Life's Stitchery
6. Custom knot by Miniature Rhino

San Honesto

"Factoria de Santos creates saints to raise awareness and positively inspire the person who prays. At Factoria de Santos, we believe a better world starts within ourselves, we must take responsibility of our actions, and not waiting for change in others.Every saint created by Factoria de Santos has a prayer, a legend and a line of products that reflect the image of the person who prays. The answer to all problems is within ourselves; we are the creators of miracles." Mission Statement by Factoria de Santos

San Honesto is a fictional saint designed by Factoria de Santos. It was meant to create a new culture of honesty in Mexico and the world. Factoria de Santos also sells advertising products to reinforce their believes. A very clever entrepreneurial concept I must say.

Icon Finder

Needed some cool social icons for the blog, since I'm into embroidering I thought of stitching each of them but it didn't take me too long to realize it was a crazy idea, I have so many other things to do! That's when I found Icon Finder, an awesome website where you search for any icon and get various results. Most of them are free for personal and commercial use. Just what I needed!

Stefan Sagmeister: The power of time off

"Every seven years, designer Stefan Sagmeister closes his New York studio for a yearlong sabbatical to rejuvenate and refresh their creative outlook. He explains the often overlooked value of time off and shows the innovative projects inspired by his time in Bali."

I don't know if I'll be able to afford a year off but I definitely agree on the power of time off, even if it's only an afternoon.
